The WWCGS meetings are open to the public, all ages and levels of genealogical experience, and are free of charge. All are welcome to attend and share their interest in genealogy and history. The meetings are held on the third Monday of the month, from September through May, except February (which meets on an alternate date), in the Livonia Civic Park Senior Center Building, 15218 Farmington Road (North of the former Court House and just South of Five Mile Road) Livonia, Michigan 48154. Parking is available on the east side of the building. There is no meeting in December although a Holiday Party is usually planned for that month.
Directions via Farmington Road:
Exit I-96 at Farmington Road. Go north about 3/4 of a mile,to Civic Center Drive (just north of Livonia Police Department). Turn right then turn left at the 1st drive to reach to parking area.
Directions via Five Mile Road:
From eastbound Five Mile, turn right into the first drive east of Farmington Road to reach the parking area..
From westboard Five Mile, use the turn around just before Farmington Road to get on eastbound Five Mile, then turn right into the parking lot,
Our typical meeting schedule is:
5:00 PM Volunteers help Hospitality Committee set up tables & chairs.
5:30 PM Bring your own dinner and enjoy genealogical conversation with other members.
6:15 PM Announcements and a presentation on a genealogy topic by one of our members.
7:30 PM Our Keynote speaker will present an informative and interesting genealogical research topic.
Note: Due to inclement weather conditions, or City Holidays, the Senior Center may be closed.
During the winter, if Livonia Public Schools are closed, then the Livonia Senior Center will also be closed.
If this should happen, attempts will be made to notify the members via our web site and/or by email that the meeting is postponed and will be rescheduled.
