You will need to choose the bus trip (and the number of seats you are purchasing) based on the point you wish to catch the bus.   There are three Pick Up points on our route:  Southfield, Livonia, and Chelsea (details provided with each selection). Ticket prices are the same for all persons.   You also have the opportunity to preorder a box lunch for the trip back to Michigan when we leave Fort Wayne.  Selection of the contents of your lunch will be made on the bus.

We expect to arrive at the ACPL between 10:00 and 10:15 AM.  For first-time visitors, an orientation tour is available upon arrival.  You will then be at the Genealogy Center until the Library Closes at 6:00 PM when we board the bus and head back to Michigan.

There are several reasons to visit the Genealogy Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Extensive collections: The Genealogy Center is home to over 1.3 million printed volumes and more than 800,000 microforms, making it one of the country’s most extensive genealogical research facilities. Its collection includes family histories, city directories, census records, military records, and more.

Access to online resources The center provides access to numerous online databases, including Ancestry.com, FindMyPast, and Fold3, as well as other subscription-based websites.

Expert assistance The Genealogy Center’s talented staff includes professional genealogists who can provide guidance and assistance with research. They can help you navigate the extensive collection and suggest resources to help you with your research.

Special collections The center has several special collections of interest to genealogists, including the Periodical Source Index (PERSI), African American Gateway, the Dawes Rolls, and many, many, more.

Overall, the Genealogy Center in Fort Wayne is an excellent resource for anyone interested in genealogy and family history research. Its extensive collections, expert staff, and educational opportunities make it a valuable resource for researchers of all levels.

An optional box lunch, consisting of a sandwich or salad, is offered, which will be delivered to the bus just before we depart. If you order one, it will be on your seat when you board the bus for the return trip to Michigan.

We recommend that you register and pay online at our website.  Please read the instructions fully. Each pickup point is listed as a separate item. If you wish to order the box lunch, please select ‘Continue Shopping.’

There is also an informational flier and mail-in registration form you can refer to. Buttons for each are at the bottom of this message. Or, you can register on the DSGR website.

This trip is open to all researchers-membership is not required to join us for this research trip. Of course, if you are not a member, we would love it if you would join one or both groups.

If you choose the mail-in option, please send DSGR or WWCGS an email so we anticipate you will join us. We hope you will join us for research and fun on Saturday, June 3!
